Service Description
Increase your fluency in a small, friendly group with native-speaking teachers and plenty of speaking, listening and debate. At our Advanced Level 1.1, you’ll work with authentic news reports, cultural texts, videos and audio from across the Spanish-speaking world, exploring topics such as current affairs, media influence, personal and social identities, multilingualism, and stories of success or social mobility. Ideal for learners who have completed courses up to CEFR B1 or hold a strong recent A-level, this level suits students who can already express themselves comfortably in Spanish and are ready for more complex grammar, vocabulary and nuanced discussion. Unsure of your level? Take the test or contact us for a level consultation. Advanced Module 1.1a strengthens the use of past tenses (pretérito perfecto, indefinido, imperfecto), the passive voice, and impersonal constructions with se and third-person plural. Students practise anticipating direct objects, giving opinions (creo que indicative / no creo que subjunctive), linking ideas (solo si… / siempre que…), and expressing agreement, disagreement, conditions, and evaluation. These skills are applied to narrating events, reporting news, and discussing topics such as politics, history, leisure, tourism, and media. Our Advanced Level 1 course covers the core CEFR B2 content and is divided into six modules, each taking 2–3 terms depending on the group. Vocabulary develops through themes such as emotions, personality, work-life topics and contemporary social issues. With a mix of listening, structured practice and free conversation, students strengthen their foundations and build the skills needed for confident real-world communication at an advanced level.
