Find your Spanish level

Not sure what level your Spanish is? Complete our Spanish foundations check and tell us about your previous learning.

We can then work out your level and recommend a suitable class to try, where you can meet the tutor and check that this is the right level for you.

Our adult classes are termly courses, with paid trial class options for new students. If you need something more flexible, we can also recommend private Spanish tuition in Bath or online.

Already studied Spanish before?

Please complete the foundations check first and tell us about your previous learning.

If your answers suggest that you may be ready for Intermediate or Advanced Spanish, we may ask you to complete an additional online level test or book a trial class so we can confirm the best group.

One enquiry form for all adult Spanish levels

Start by telling us about your Spanish learning and goals. This form is for all adult levels, from complete beginner to advanced.

After submitting the form, you can complete our Spanish Foundations Check. It helps us understand your grammar, vocabulary and confidence before recommending a group class to try.  It is useful for beginners, improvers and many intermediate or advanced learners too, especially if you have learnt through a mixture of GCSE, A-Level, adult courses, apps, travel or self-study.

If your foundations are already very strong, you do not have to complete the check. Please give us as much detail as you can on the enquiry form so we can recommend a suitable trial class or ask for any extra information we need.

The Foundations Check takes around 30 minutes, but don't worry we will also send you the direct link by email after you submit the form so you can come back to it later.

Tell us about your Spanish

Complete the form below so we can learn about your previous experience, your goals and the type of class you are looking for.
After you submit the form, you’ll be taken to the optional Spanish Foundations Check.

Foundation check and level enquiry

  • Complete the form to tell us more about your previous experience with Spanish and start the Foundation Check quiz.

  • A direct link to the quiz will also be sent to you by email as it takes around 30 minutes to complete and does not save progress.

  • We’ll review your answers on this form and your foundation check and contact you with suitable class options to try.

  • Please check your junk or spam folder in case our reply or automated confirmation email does not arrive in your inbox.

How our Spanish levels work

Our course levels

Our adult Spanish courses are organised into levels and themed modules. Each group progresses at its own pace, with plenty of time for conversation, revision and confidence-building.

Beginner modules usually take 1–2 terms to complete. From Intermediate onwards, each module can take up to 3 terms, giving students time to consolidate grammar, vocabulary, speaking and listening skills.

The milestones below come from real student reflections and show the kind of progress learners often notice at each stage.

FAQ

¿Should I take the foundations check if I have studied Spanish before? Yes. The foundations check helps us understand your grammar, vocabulary and confidence before recommending a group. You can also tell us about GCSE, A-Level, adult courses, apps, travel or private tuition experience on the form.

¿I think I am intermediate. Should I still complete this form? Yes. Intermediate Spanish means more than knowing vocabulary. We also look at your confidence with grammar, listening, speaking, past tenses and how independently you can use Spanish in conversation.

¿Will I get my result immediately? Not always. We review your answers and contact you with suitable class options. Please check your junk or spam folder in case our reply or confirmation email does not reach your inbox.

¿Can I book a trial class? Yes. Most new students try a paid trial class before enrolling for the term, especially if they are joining an existing group.

¿Are adult group classes pay-as-you-go? No. Adult group classes are termly courses. Trial classes are available for new students, but ongoing classes are booked by term. Private tuition is available if you need a more flexible arrangement.

¿What if I only want Spanish for holidays or specific goals? Our termly adult classes follow a structured course to help you understand and use Spanish more independently over time. If you mainly want practical Spanish for travel, a shorter introduction or lessons built around your own goals, you may prefer our Holiday Spanish short course or private Spanish tuition.
