¡Hola! Next week begins with a special showing of the Venezuelan film El cine soy yo in Bath on Monday evening, then Thursday marks the final day of classroom lessons for this academic year — and we’d love to celebrate with you afterwards at our annual Todo el Mundo Summer Social.

We’ll be heading to Bath on the Beach at Royal Victoria Park for a relaxed evening of copas y conversación, bringing together students, teachers, friends, family, past students and future learners too.

It’s a lovely chance to mark the end of another year of Spanish, say hello to other students outside the classroom, meet more of the team, and enjoy a bit of summer atmosphere together.

Este año la Copa Mundial de la FIFA se celebra en México, Estados Unidos y Canadá, convirtiéndose en el primer Mundial organizado por tres países y también en el más grande de la historia, con 48 selecciones y 104 partidos. México hace historia al convertirse en el primer país en albergar tres Copas del Mundo masculinas.

En Todo el Mundo estamos especialmente emocionados porque México es uno de los países anfitriones, y el partido inaugural se juega en Ciudad de México.

Pero para nosotros, el Mundial no es solo fútbol. Es una oportunidad fantástica para escuchar español auténtico, descubrir nuevas culturas y aprender vocabulario que realmente se usa en la vida cotidiana.

Esta semana, Venezuela hizo historia al ganar por primera vez el Clásico Mundial de Béisbol, derrotando a Estados Unidos 3–2 en una final emocionante en Miami.El héroe del momento fue Eugenio Suárez, que conectó un doble en la novena entrada para asegurar la victoria. En todo el país hubo celebraciones — desde Caracas hasta Maracay — con miles de aficionados vibrando de orgullo.

Más allá del deporte, este triunfo representa una gran alegría y esperanza para el pueblo venezolano. Es un recordatorio de cómo la pasión, el trabajo en equipo y la perseverancia pueden unir a toda una nación.

En nuestras clases de español, nos encanta celebrar los éxitos del mundo hispanohablante — y este, sin duda, es uno que quedará en la historia.
