Essential information for all students of our group Spanish classes for adults

FEES

For termly enrolment  fees per 1.5hr class are £21 daytimes and £24. evenings.   

There is no pay-as-you go option for group classes however you can book a trial lesson

Enrol for two or more terms with a direct debit plan to benefit from lower class fees of £19 daytimes and £22 per class for evenings

At least one extra online class per term is included in the fees and you can attend another group at a similar level to make up for missing your usual class, these can be outside of the term dates above.

SOCIALS

Vamos al bar at least once a term bringing students from different groups (and their fiends & families) together for plenty of conversation in Spanish (and English).

 

In the summer we run walking tours of Bath for students of Spanish, in the autumn we enjoy the Spanish language films in the FilmBath festival with our students.

Evenings at Bath Academy

  • The front door at Bath Academy is always be locked and does not open when pushed.  Please press the buzzer (round button to your left).  

  • Tutors will be in the hallway to answer the buzzer between 6.25-6.30pm.  We advise you arrive within this window.  

 

  • If you arrive late please follow the instructions on our door sign.

  • On arrival please familiarise yourself with the venue fire exits and evacuation procedure.

  • For trial classes please bring a notepad/pen/reading & distance glasses if needed and a drink.

There is no parking at Bath Academy.  Charlotte Street car park is the closest car park where you are guaranteed to find a space.  Students also recommend the metered areas in Victoria Park for best value and a lovely walk to class!

Class culture

  • To ensure a welcoming and safe learning environment for everyone we ask all students to read our Class Culture and Safety Guidance linked below before their first class.

  • This is your first piece of homework - your teacher will check you have read and understood the Class culture and Safety Guidance at your first class. 

 

  • Understanding these guidelines helps create a respectful, enjoyable, and productive space for learning Spanish together.

  • The the main doors to the hall should be open, come in turn right and go up the stairs to the meeting rooms for class. 

  • The tutor will welcome students in to the classroom from 5 minutes before the lesson start time

 

  • If arriving early, you are welcome to wait in the social area or library on the ground floor until it is time for your class.   

  • If you are late, please yourself in to the classroom and join the lesson

​Parking: There is a shoppers car park in front of New Oriel Hall offering 2hrs free parking however spaces are very limited, along with on street parking the area.  You can also easily reach Larkhall by bus.   The closest bus stop is Larkhall Square (number 7 only) or a 2 minute walk to the bus stops on London Road by the rugby training ground.

Our classes teach Castilian Spanish using high-quality course books used by top schools worldwide. These books are an essential part of your learning, providing homework exercises, grammar tables and useful reference material.

Each tab shows the ISBN number, available editions, and a picture of the front cover to help you identify the right book.

All course books include free access to digital resources from the publisher, such as audio files, videos, transcripts, mapped texts, glossaries, digital exercises, pronunciation capsules and autocorrecting end-of-unit exams. Click here for setup instructions.

Some books have special hybrid editions with 12-month access to all digital content, and there are also online-only access options for 6–12 months. Contact us if you’d like guidance on these choices.

We do not supply course books or recommend specific retailers. Please search by ISBN and consider second-hand options such as eBay or Vinted.

Online learning platform

Students enrolled in our group classes for adults benefit from access to an exclusive interactive area on our online platform called 'Groups'.   Here you will find weekly lesson summaries and your homework for your group as well as links to other learning resources.

 

All members of our website (you do not have to be a student) also benefit from access and interacting in our open Groups about films & podcasts for learning Spanish y más

  • If you are a current student you need to be logged in to access your group area (check top-right on desktop or top of the menu on mobile to see if you are logged in)

  • New student or joiner? Request to join your 'Group' and follow instructions to create an account for our site and request membership.

We manually approve all group membership requests, please reach out if you do not get approved after 48hrs.   If you experience any difficulties accessing Groups please get in touch.
