Next course: Eating Out in Spain

Our next Holiday Spanish short course focuses on eating out in Spain. Across four friendly 1.5 hour classes, you’ll learn useful vocabulary and phrases for cafés, tapas bars and restaurants, including how to order food and drinks, understand mealtimes, ask for the bill and feel more confident speaking Spanish on holiday.

  • Spanish mealtimes and eating-out culture

  • Ordering in cafés, bars and restaurants

  • Pronunciation of words such as paella and chorizo

  • Numbers, prices and paying

  • Fun role plays, including our own classroom cafetería

Holiday Spanish FAQ

Do I need to know any Spanish before joining?
No. Our Holiday Spanish short courses are designed for complete beginners.

Is this a full Spanish course?
No. This is a short, practical course focused on useful Spanish for holidays. If you want to continue afterwards, we can recommend one of our regular adult Spanish classes.

Will I have to speak in class?
Yes, but in a friendly and supportive way. The aim is to help you feel more confident using simple Spanish in real situations.

Are materials included?
Yes, all course learning materials are provided.

Where are the classes held?
Daytimes are at New Oriel Hall, Larkhall, Bath.

Evenings are at Bath Academy, Queen Square, Bath

What if I already use Duolingo?
You are very welcome. The course will help you practise speaking, pronunciation and real-life phrases, which are harder to develop through apps alone.

Is this course right for me?

These short courses are ideal if you are a complete beginner, planning a holiday to Spain, returning to Spanish after a long break, or learning casually with apps but would like more speaking practice. You do not need to know any Spanish before joining.

If you already know some Spanish and would like a regular weekly class, you may prefer to take our Spanish level test so we can recommend the best adult group class for you.
