Improver Spanish classes in Bath

Build on the basics with friendly improver Spanish classes for adults in Bath. Our Beginner 2 modules are designed for learners who already know a little Spanish and want to become more confident using the language in everyday situations.

You’ll develop your vocabulary, grammar and speaking confidence step by step, with plenty of support from your tutor and group.

This level is suitable if you have already learnt some basic Spanish and can recognise simple words, phrases and classroom language.

​

You may be ready for this level if you can introduce yourself, say a little about where you are from, ask and answer simple questions, and understand some basic present tense verbs.

​

If you are completely new to Spanish, our Beginner 1a Foundation course will be a better starting point. If you already feel comfortable speaking in short conversations, you may be ready for a higher level.  ​

What you'll learn in Beginner 2

Beginner 2 helps you move beyond first conversations and start using Spanish more independently. Each module focuses on practical topics, useful grammar and everyday communication.

Beginner 2a
People, personality and love

Talk about family, friends, relationships, likes and personality. You’ll learn how to describe people and share simple opinions about the people and things that matter to you.

Beginner 2c
Food, tapas and eating out

Build useful vocabulary for food, restaurants, menus and eating habits. You’ll practise language for ordering, talking about what you like and navigating everyday food situations.

Beginner 2b
Everyday life: Routines, time and habits

Learn to talk about your daily routine, tell the time, describe habits and say how often you do things. This module helps you speak more confidently about everyday life.

Beginner 2d
Around town: Places, directions and local life

Learn to talk about towns, neighbourhoods, places and directions. This module helps you describe where things are and manage simple conversations when out and about.

Ready to start? Book your place for the term with a £70 deposit and we’ll send you the next steps after enrolment.

If you are unsure whether this is the right level, take our level test before booking. You can also book a trial class where spaces are available so we can check whether the group is a good fit.

How our classes work

Enrolment and fees

Our adult group Spanish classes are a termly or multi-term enrolment.  â€‹â€‹â€‹New students can book a trial class before enrolling.  Mid-term joiners are welcome.   

​

Class fees depend on the level and location of your class.   Our multi-term plans offer a discount on the advertised fees.

​

View our trial and course online bookings for current class prices.  ​Trial classes are charged in full.  Online enrolments charge a deposit payment only. 

 

A few weeks after enrolling you can then choose whether to pay the balance of the term in full or spread the cost with a direct debit for a single or multiple terms​

What's included in the fees

In addition to your weekly class each class has it's own interactive area on our website.  Here students access class summaries, homework, extra learning resources and interact with their group.

Missing class? We also include an extra online group class in your fees each term.  Students can also attend another class from our timetable at a similar level (where available) to make up for missed lessons. 

​

Course books are not included in the class fees.  You do not need a copy of the course book to try one of our classes.

FAQ

¿Do I need to have completed Beginner 1? No. You can join from another course, school Spanish, self-study or previous experience if the level is suitable.

¿Can I join after the start of term? Sometimes, yes. If there is a suitable space available, we may be able to offer a mid-term start. Fees may be adjusted depending on the number of classes remaining.

¿What should I know before joining or trying a Beginner 2 class? You should know some basic words and phrases and some present tense verbs. You should be ready to build simple conversations. If you are unsure, take the level test before booking.

¿What if I have used Duolingo or learnt Spanish on holiday? That can be a helpful start. We would recommend that you take our level test or trial class to help us see if Beginner 2 is right for you.

¿Can I join after the start of term? Often, yes. Mid-term joiners are welcome where suitable spaces are available and only pay for the remaining weeks of term.

¿What comes next after Beginner 2? After completing our transition module, most students usually progress to Intermediate 1, where they develop more confident conversation and begin to use a wider range of grammar and everyday language.
