Hello!
I am a Spanish teacher at the language school Todo el Mundo, based in Bath. I am originally from the north of Spain, although I have spent almost every summer of my life in a small area of Soria, in Castilla y León.
Now I am embarking on this wonderful project in which I will take a small group of Spanish students to experience a linguistic and cultural immersion in this area of Spain, so that they can discover and enjoy this remarkable environment, a place I never tire of.
In today’s blog, I would like to make special mention of the Caliphal Fortress of Gormaz, an impressive fortress standing amidst the vast plains of Castilla.

There are places that move us because of their scale, but also because of the sensations they awaken in us. The Caliphal Fortress of Gormaz rises above the landscape of Soria like a long stone wall suspended between sky and earth. The breeze, the tranquillity, and the vastness of the valley make the visit not only historical, but also deeply sensory. Walking along its walls allows us to imagine centuries of watchfulness, frontiers, and encounters between cultures.
“If the sky over Castile is so high, it is because the farmers have lifted it by gazing at it so often,” Miguel Delibes.
In the following link, you will be able to read an article from National Geographic about the Fortress of Gormaz:
